Diabetes, Heart Disease and Obesity is a health epidemic that swept of this planet. If I ask "what the biggest health epidemic in terms of deaths" what would you say? I have asked this question to many people and almost 100 percent I get the same answer: Diabetes.

The fact is, heart disease is leading the way in terms of deaths each year. It's not even close. If this is true, why Diabetes is almost always the number one answer ?

Before I answer that question, let's explore Heart Disease . Heart disease is what they call the silent killer.

Quoted from EzineArticles.com

Diagnosis of heart disease is very smooth. You go to the doctor, and they run the tests. 2 weeks later, you get results and your doctor tells you that you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure. They tell you to take it easy and watch your diet. You can come back in a year or two, and if the results produce other negative results, the doctor put you on drugs .

People usually do not "follow the rules." So what usually happens is that they have a heart attack or stroke. It is a silent killer because symptoms seen until late daily.

Diabetes on the other hand is "in your face." This condition affects not only individuals, but entire families. Even friends drawn to the field because they have to monitor diet and activity as well.

The entire industry is affected in terms of food labeling and nutrition guide. The menu has been amended to cater for people with diabetes . You do not see this with Heart Disease.

What about medication? It's not just insulin or pills. It needles, glucose monitors , test strips, pump, alcohol pads, etc. Some people have a backpack full of supplies that should stay with them. Have you ever go to the drug store? There is a whole "Diabetes Center!" All for diabetics.

The diagnosis of diabetes is also very "hard." You do not get diagnosed with diabetes by visiting your doctor. When you are diagnosed with diabetes, especially type 1, sometimes-personal visits to the emergency room. This is top of mind from start to finish.

Heart disease is the biggest, but definitely the hardest is diabetes. There is a support system, foundations, and special care center for people suffering from diabetes.

Patients with diabetes feel the lowest and highest daily. Their lives upside down. Every aspect of their life is under constant scrutiny.

That is why it is the loudest!
